Amazon’s Subscribe and Save is a great way to save time and money by setting up recurring deliveries on all of your essentials. You automatically get 5% off every item you subscribe to, and you get 15% off all items in your order if you subscribe to five or more products for your monthly delivery. You can also stack coupons on top of the subscribe and save prices for additional savings.

When you subscribe to an item, you determine the frequency of recurring shipments, from every month to every six months. Subscribe and save purchases ship once per month on your subscribe and save delivery day rather than shipping automatically like other products you order from Amazon. You can always skip a delivery or move items from one month to another. All subscribe and save items include free shipping without Amazon Prime unless the item is listed as “Prime only.”

Using Subscribe and Save for Maximum Savings
Check Amazon’s Subscribe and Save storefront for the most up-to-date deals on household, grocery, and other essential items. Amazon will also suggest personalized items for you based on your shopping history, and you can browse the subscribe and save coupons.
Amazon frequently offers coupons on subscribe and save items, which you can find in the storefront or on individual product pages. These coupons can often be 20-50% off the regular price. Coupons only apply to your first subscribe and save order, and subsequent deliveries will be charged at the regular price. Amazon releases big batches of coupons at the beginning of the month, but it’s worth checking in frequently because they’re always adding new ones.
If you have Amazon Prime, make sure to share your Prime membership with another household member. Most Amazon coupons can only be used once per account, but you and your family member can both use them.
It’s almost always worth adding one or two small items to your subscription to get 15% off all other items. You can find tons of filler items to subscribe to for $1-$2, and here are some options to help you get started.
- Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, 5 oz
- Annie’s Macaroni and Cheese, Shells & Aged Cheddar Mac and Cheese, 6 oz Box
- Reynolds Cut-Rite wax paper, 75 sq ft
- Vaseline Lip Therapy, Creme Brulee, 0.25 Ounce
- Suave Antiperspirant Deodorant, Shower Fresh 2.6 oz
You can also use the search function filtering for only subscribe and save eligible items to find something you need and then sort the results by lowest price first.
Alternatively, you can always delay your monthly delivery of subscribed items until you get five in one shipment for the maximum discount.
Tips and Tricks
Add-on items that require a $25+ order will ship free when you subscribe to them when that option is available.
If you want multiples of one item, create separate subscriptions. If you subscribe to multiple in one order, it will only count as one towards your five items.
Make sure to manage your subscriptions to avoid any unintended shipments. If you subscribed to something only to use a coupon, set the auto delivery for six months and cancel after the first order ships.
